Bradley James portrays Prince Arthur: The headstrong and extremely arrogant yet brave and good-hearted son of King Uther, and future King of Camelot. He deeply cares about the people of Camelot even more than he does about himself. Though Arthur has been "trained to fight since birth" and is excellent in combat, he is often vulnerable and Merlin must protect him from harm to fulfil this legend. Arthur becomes friends with Merlin, despite being his master, and the pair have saved one another's lives on numerous occasions. It soon becomes apparent that his true love is the lowly peasant Guinevere.
