Anthony Head portrays Uther Pendragon: Arthur's father and current king of Camelot. Uther is often a ruthless and cruel man whom some have called a tyrant, but he does care deeply about Camelot and for Arthur as well as Morgana, despite often being strict to the two young ones. However, he is frequently blinded by his hatred of all forms of magic. Since Arthur's birth, he has done many horrible things, including waging a genocide against all people born with magic, including of children and often including the killings of anyone who is so much as seen with a magician, thus Merlin and Morgana must be very careful (he does not know of their powers, nor that the latter of the two seeks to kill him).
